“Always Prepare Yourself” by Mrs Patricia Mavhandu, Wednesday Service, the 2nd May 2012.

Rom 4:19 “19 And not being weak in faith, he did not consider his own body, already dead (since he was about a hundred years old), and the deadness of Sarah’s womb.” Romans 4:19, NKJV.

Rom 8:36-39 “36 As it is written: “For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter.” 37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. 38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come, 39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Rom 8:36-39, NKJV.

Romans 16:20 “20 And the God of peace will crush Satan under your feet shortly. The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you. Amen.” Rom 16:20, NKJV.

These verses are talking about us.
James 4:6 “6 But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: “God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.”” James 4:6, NKJV.

Humility before the eyes of the Lord is the beginning. To humble yourself under the face of the Lord is very crucial. If we refuse to humble ourselves unto God, blessings will pass us by. If we are able to do something or accomplish something, we must thank God who is the one who enables us to do so.

Let’s look at a person who is well-to-do. Most of the well-to-do people believe they are well off because of their own efforts. When we start to be proud, we chase our blessings away. Mostly we hear people boasting about what they can do. This attitude makes us to miss the word of God when it is preached.

Additional reading Matt 3:3 “3 For this is he who was spoken of by the prophet Isaiah, saying: “The voice of one crying in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the way of the Lord; Make His paths straight.'”” Matt 3:3, NKJV.

Isaiah 40:3 “3 The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God.” Isa 40:3, NKJV.

A dessert is completely barren and void. There is no water, no food, no shade etc. This means there is nowhere to hide. This means that when the sun is too hot for you there is no where you can run to. I like it when the bible says Prepare the way of the Lord; Make straight in the desert A highway for our God.” You can ask yourself how do I do this. By humbling ourselves before the Lord.

Luke 8:10 “10 And He said, “To you it has been given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God, but to the rest it is given in parables, that ‘Seeing they may not see, And hearing they may not understand.’” Luke 8:10, NKJV.

Maybe you are listening but not hearing, you may be looking without being able to see. This world is very vast and needs us to be prepared. It is only you and me who can prepare the way of the Lord, who can prepare to listen so that we can hear, to look so that we can see. Without humbling yourself before the Lord you will not be able to hear nor see.

It is you and me who must refuse all that separates us from the Lord. The first thing is to humble ourselves before the Lord. You may be the one who is in the dessert with no food, no water, and no shade. God is waiting for you and me to invite Him to come.

Romans 10:11 “11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”” Rom 10:11, NKJV.

This world makes us to be separated from our God. You may be wondering why ever since you started to come to church you have an accident every year, why your children are no longer listening to you etc. Let me tell you the eagle is busy flying looking down for food to eat. The witches and wizards will not stop meeting on account of you. What you need to do is to prophesy that you will live to declare the goodness of the Lord.

You may be bombarded by a lot of deaths in your family. You may be working in the family but with nothing to show for it. Jesus Christ says: come all ye who are heavily laden and I will take the yoke off of you. The bible says all those who believe in Him will never be ashamed.

God wants you the way you are. Maybe for you to pass any grade, you first have to repeat it. God says I am here for you. Maybe today is your day to receive your miracle.

You must prophesy to say I know my Redeemer liveth. This shames the devil. There is a lot that you may be facing in your life, which only you know. This is the time when God says I am ready to help you.

Do not be afraid when challenges keep coming your way. Maybe God is allowing all these challenges so that you can be closer to Him. Most people forget God when they have no problems or challenges.

God is good. When I was involved in a car accident I worshipped God endlessly. I said God you are such a good God. It is only God who can quench the attacks against us. When we are in the valleys He is with us, on the mountain it is still Him with us.

John 11:41 “41 Then they took away the stone from the place where the dead man was lying. And Jesus lifted up His eyes and said, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.” John 11:41, NKJV.

Jesus Christ is the son of God, without sin. The first things He did when He arrived at this place He looked up unto the heavens and thanked God and said John 11:42 “2 And I know that You always hear Me, but because of the people who are standing by I said this, that they may believe that You sent Me.”” NKJV.

We must also look at the heavens and thank God. By thanking God the stone will roll away. There are so many stones along our paths which make us to stumble.

You need to be thankful for your health. Some are having diabetes, HIV/AIDS or any other disease but still they can look up and from the bottom of your heart say to God, “I thank you.”

God is a faithful God. It is up to me and you, are we ready?

When sicknesses and diseases come, just thank God. This is how you pave your way.

You need t listen to God’s response so that you can hear the Holy Spirit speaking and responding unto you. How are we able to do anything: through the Holy Spirit.
